STUDIO PROFILE

Aniko Ceramics

"Clay is a living, breathing archive of earth’s memory. I do not conquer the clay; I merely hold a conversation with it on the spinning wheel."

Based out of a converted timber barn in the foothills of Oregon, Aniko Vance harvests wild local clays to introduce organic textures. Her raw clay pottery resists standard smooth finishes, celebrating crackles, slate strikes, and raw finger-formed ridges instead.
